Loly Haute Couture
The opening of the haute-couture collection "Loly" by the actress and designer Zita Moldovan was a match for the creations, which rarely happens in the history of openings. So, this is what a fashion event looks like that transcends boundaries and becomes a cultural act carrying a strong message: on the material created by Zita, traditional symbols from Roma culture are mapped, coherently and spectacularly integrated into contemporary design. Zita is, as I said, creator (of the world), of a safe space where Roma is no longer the only barely visible woman. The "bride" of the collection is the mannequin on which Elena Andrei so beautifully and delicately placed the messages of solidarity in the Romanian, Rroma and English languages. It is almost a moral imperative, therefore, to have cultural acts (feminist and not only) that place Roma culture in the light it deserves. And for those who know too little of their history, let's get out from under the "veil of ignorance" and value this correct culture, honestly, with the truth and in its truth, not ours. Thank you, dear Zita, for all that you are and bring to the world. Thank you to everyone who attended, so, so many! - curator Roxana Dumitrache
